Queens' College has no quota for overseas, mature or affiliated Students. We expect overseas and mature students to have attained academic qualifications to the same level as all other British students applying here - see Offers.
Students living overseas (i.e. outside the European Community) with British nationality do not automatically become Home fee paying students, nor do overseas students who live in the UK or elsewhere in the EC. Each case is considered individually. If you are at all unsure about what your fee status will be, please contact the Admissions Secretary before applying. Queens' does not expect overseas students to attend for interview in Cambridge. It must be said however, that interviews do assist us in the decision-making process and if it is possible to attend at a time earlier than the interview period (i.e. any time during the year before December) we will do our best to interview you then. If you have any difficulty in obtaining details it may be worth trying to contact your local British Council Office as they usually hold many books about entrance to British Universities.
Students are classified as Mature if they are, or will be, 21 years old by the time they come into residence in October. They complete a special yellow application form and are treated exactly the same as other undergraduate applicants, except that Queens' does not accept mature students to read for Medical or Veterinary Sciences and may impose restrictions on some other subjects. Please check before applying.
Queens' rarely admits more than one or two affiliated students each year and sometimes none at all. The majority of affiliated candidates apply for Law or Economics, both of which are very popular subjects at Queens'. Queens' does not accept affiliated students to read for Medical or Veterinary Sciences and may impose restrictions on some other subjects. Please check before applying.
