Essex Building 1810

Essex Building from Small Bridges Street 1810, by R.B. Harraden

The road we now call Silver Street was called Small Bridges Street, because it originally had two bridges, one over each branch of the Cam - the one we see here over the main stream, and a second one over what is now Queens' Drain, which was the original course of the river out from the mill pool.
