In 1732, the Hall was decorated in a classical manner by Sir James Burrough. Fielded panelling by James Essex the Elder was erected. The portraits (Erasmus, Elizabeth Woodville, Sir Thomas Smith) over High Table were put up in 1766. The oriel window is shown here without tracery, and without stained glass.
