On the left is the door to the Munro Room, with the Old Library windows above. Then there is the Library passage to Walnut-Tree Court, with the sundial above. On the roof is the clock-tower of 1910, designed by Cecil G. Hare. The bell in the clock-tower was cast in 1637. The three large windows near the centre are the south windows of the Old Chapel, now the student library. Round the corner is staircase E, with six student sets. The main gate house has a spiral staircase (F) in the left-hand tower leading to a Fellow's room on the first floor, with a student shared set at the top - this is possibly one of the most characterful student sets in College. On the right is staircase A, with three student sets.

All that you see here was erected in 1448. Although there is no hard evidence, stylistic matters suggest that this was designed by the master mason Reginald Ely, who was also at the same time erecting the original Old Court of King's College (now part of the University Old Schools opposite Clare College), and the start of King's College Chapel. He was a personal friend of Andrew Dokett, the priest of this parish, who was the prime mover in founding Queens' College. The difference between his work at King's and Queens' is that:
