What excites me about my subject:Its really diverse nature. One minute I could be looking into legal problems, the next a financial report or even third world economic development theory. You don't have time to get bored as the combined nature of the law, economics, finance etc. means you can study a broad range of topics or choose to specialise in a certain area.
What else I get up to in Cambridge:While at Cambridge I have been involved in many College activities from Rag, the girls football team, mixed lacrosse and even been to yoga classes! Since first year I have been an active member of the College boat club as not only a rower but a senior cox and women's first boat captain for a term. During my time I've also been heavily involved in Queens' Ents, serving first on the bar staff and then becoming part of the actual committee as "Bar Manager" and licensee, which enabled me to gain a real licensing qualification. I am also now the President of the Queens' College Ladies Dining Society, The Scorpions. The great thing about Cambridge is that there is so much to do and be a part of that there really is something for everyone.
What I think about Queens':

To me, Queens' is probably the friendliest and most sociable college in Cambridge with a great mix of people from all different backgrounds. I think it's the diversity we have which makes it such a great community to live, work and be a part of.

To be honest I had some reservations about coming to Cambridge as I thought this place simply wasn't for me. I thought that because I am the first person to do my A-levels in my family I really wouldn't fit in with  stereotypical people at Cambridge (everyone would be either really posh or wouldn't come out of their rooms because they were working so hard.) I can now say that my ideas were exactly that: stereotypes. Of course there's going to be posh people and ones that work really hard and not leave their rooms, it's Cambridge, but to be honest I found being at Queens' there was a great mix of people from all walks of life who I get on with great with regardless of where they're from, or how little they leave their room!
