Round Project

Work has now started to redevelop the Round.  This includes the extension and  improvement of the Porters' Lodge; building a new Cloister joining the Porters' Lodge to Cripps Court; and landscaping.  From 1 January 2012 vehicular and pedestrian entrances to Queens' from Silver Street beside the River Cam are closed.  It is envisaged that work will be completed during autumn 2012. There is no longer any parking available in the Round.

Pedestrian access to Queens' during the redevelopment of the Round

The Porters' Lodge has been transferred from its former location at the east end of Fisher building to temporary accommodation in the Portakabin outside W staircase, just inside the entry gates in Fisher Drive.

Pedestrian entry/exit to College is via W staircase arch.  The Porter on duty can then provide directions.  Please note that it will not be possible to cross the Round to the bridge or to Cripps Court from the east end of Fisher Building.
