IP Registration and Firerack
The College now has a self registration system in place, called Firerack, which no longer requires a visit to the IT Department to get internet accesss.
Before proceeding with the self registration, you are required to have an Anit-Virus program installed and working on your computer, and to have followed the configuration instructions for your Operating System (Vista/7, XP/2000 or MacOSX).
Your IP address is now issued automatically by the Firerack system, once you have authenticated yourself using Raven.
Connect an Ethernet cable (sold by the College) between your computer and the Ethernet socket on the wall in your College room.
To get to the registration screen, open a web browser and try to go to a web site, your attempt will be intercepted by Firerack and your registration process will begin.
