Poetry Prizes 2012

The College has been given money by the families of former pupils to endow two poetry prizes in their memory.

Sam Hadfield Poetry Prize

This prize is to encourage Queens’ undergraduates, not solely from the English Department, to write poetry both as an art form and as a means of expressing their feelings.  Its value is £100.

Henry Frederick Farr Poetry Prize

This prize was set up in 1981 and is open to all student members of Queens’.  Its value is £40.

It is not necessary to specify for which prize you are entering.  Entries should be not more than 200 lines of verse in length and may consist of a single poem or a group of poems.  They should be sent to the Senior Tutor before 2 May 2012
